Welcoming OpenText’s Application Modernization and Connectivity (AMC) Business, formerly a Micro Focus company, to the Rocket Software Family
Modernization is not a new concept, but this week marks the beginning of a new era for it—and for Rocket Software.
We are excited to announce that we have officially closed the acquisition of the Application Modernization and Connectivity (AMC) business of OpenText, formerly Micro Focus. On behalf of the whole Rocket Software team, I am delighted to welcome AMC customers, partners, and employees to the Rocket Software family. With this acquisition, we have now solidified our position as a leader in mainframe modernization and can now help more customers modernize without disruption.
As a company that firmly believes there is a better approach to the ‘rip and replace, throw it all out and start over’ playbook for modernization, we continue to be focused on helping customers leverage their existing foundations. As such, this acquisition isn’t just about expanding our capabilities; it is a strategic move to transform the modernization landscape. Rocket Software customers now have the software solution options they need to modernize data, applications, and infrastructure in new ways. Every business is different and multiple approaches to modernization are needed. That’s why we’re so happy to have the greatest breadth of modernization options so that our clients can choose what is right for them, based on what makes the most sense for their business needs. With AMC, we've got the tools, resources, and expertise to tackle any mainframe modernization challenge head-on and at scale.
The strategic acquisitions we make, like that of AMC, aren't just for growth—they're about bringing the best minds and technologies under one roof to deliver solutions to support our customers on their modernization journeys. This is why we're thrilled to add more than 770 talented individuals to the Rocket Software team, from software engineers and go-to-market professionals. We are also hiring hundreds more Rocketeers that will allow us to reach new heights together.
Our values of Empathy, Humanity, Trust, and Love were not only our guiding light during our acquisition, but they guide us in everything we do.
Here’s what they look like in practice:
Rocket Software is well-positioned to deliver significant value to companies undergoing a mainframe modernization transformation and looking to meet the demands of the digital era. With this acquisition, we will also continue to be a trusted partner to our loyal customers, who have made Rocket Software an integral part of their modernization journeys.
To help customers stay competitive and leverage their data, applications, and infrastructure regardless of where they are in their modernization journey, Rocket Software will integrate—and continue to develop—AMC products to enhance its portfolio. Now, we have a comprehensive portfolio that allows our clients to modernize their workloads in place, on the cloud, or both, through a hybrid strategy.
This acquisition represents a new era of innovation, collaboration, and success for our customers, partners, and every member of the Rocket Software family.
