CORBA Services
Standards compliant. ORB and platform independent. Written entirely in Java, OpenFusion CORBA Services run on a wide range of Unix, Linux and Windows platforms.
Available for Rocket® VisiBroker and Rocket® OpenFusion JacORB ORBs
CORBA Services
Leading implementation of CORBA Notification specification, providing high performance, message based communication, for loosely coupled solutions.
Transmit structured events and apply constraints through filtering mechanism.
Leverage quality of service properties and partition an event domain into logical groups.
CORBA Services
A full service implementation of the CORBA Trading Service specification.
The Rocket® OpenFusion Trading Service (formerly a Micro Focus® product) is a full implementation of the OMG CORBA Trading Service, offering a way of locating CORBA services in an alternative way to the Naming Service. Services are grouped into categories, much like how the Yellow Pages phone book is organized. CORBA applications can query this complex directory service to discover newly available resources and services.
Rocket® OpenFusion Trading Service can be federated for scalability and availability, with service types and offers imported and exported via XML. Administration of the Trading Service is available via a GUI based management tool, integrated into the OpenFusion Administration Manager.
GUI Based Management Tool - Users can define the location and configuration of a service using the configuration tool. On startup, it can be connected to any of the service instances, and can read and display the service configuration and status information.
CORBA Services
Leading implementation of CORBA Telecom Log specification, offering persistent log records, data dissemination through log forwarding, log record filtering, and QoS.
Includes support for X.735, a CCITT recommendation for a log control function.
Includes several extensions, providing extra performance and interoperability.
All key resources required by OpenFusion CORBA services are accessed through generic plug-ins. These enable OpenFusion to flexibly accommodate databases (such as Oracle, Sybase, Informix, and SQL Server) and other products. Custom plug-ins can be created with OpenFusion’s APIs.
Extending open source for the Enterprise.
The Rocket® OpenFusion Advanced Naming Service (formerly a Micro Focus® product) is a highly scalable and robust implementation of the CORBA Naming Service specification. It provides a white pages object directory, and it supports the interoperable Naming Service (INS) extensions to provide a URL-type naming scheme.
Additionally, the Rocket® OpenFusion Advanced Naming Service integrates with JNDI and LDAP directory services. Support is provided for load balancing with customizable algorithms, and the Naming Service can be optimized using configurable caching policies. Naming hierarchies are importable and exportable with XML.
Load Balancing Out-Of-The-Box
The Rocket® OpenFusion Advanced Naming Service supports load balancing extensions which allow multiple objects to be bound to the same name in the naming hierarchy. A load balancing algorithm will determine which object reference is returned as a result of a lookup operation. The Naming Service will support a number of standard load balancing algorithms, including random, round-robin, active, and first-bound. You can configure the algorithm with the service configuration tool.
Simple Administration
The Rocket® OpenFusion Advanced Naming Service can be administered via a GUI based management tool that is integrated into the OpenFusion Administration Manager. The tool allows users to define the location and configuration of a service. On startup, the configuration tool can be connected to any of the service instances and can read the service configuration and status information, displaying it to the user.
Standard and Advanced Editions
Two editions of the Rocket® OpenFusion Advanced Naming Service are available, enabling you to choose the level of functionality that most closely matches your business requirements:
Standard Edition - Highly scalable and fully compliant with the OMG's COS Naming Service Specification.
Advanced Edition - Extends the Standard Naming Service Edition by providing support for advanced features, such as load balancing.
A leading implementation of the OMG CORBA Log Service specification.
The Rocket® OpenFusion Log Service (formerly a Micro Focus® product) is the premier implementation of the OMG specification for logging in a CORBA system. Based on the OpenFusion Notification Service, it’s highly reliable and extremely flexible.
Because a log object is also a Notification Service event channel, log records can be filtered before they are forwarded to log consumers. This mechanism allows the application generated log messages to be content-routed to consumers.
The Rocket OpenFusion Log Service also supports X.735, which is a CCITT recommendation for a log control function. It includes a number of important extensions, providing extra levels of performance and interoperation with other systems, such as a structured log that dramatically improves log store query times.
Efficiently locate and use CORBA objects with interoperable Naming Service.
Discover CORBA objects by category and their capabilities.
Obtain and manipulate the current time and time intervals.
