For manipulating the system date to evaluate the effect on applications

ValidDate is a system programmer’s tool that manipulates the system date and/or time. ValidDate works at the operating system level and requires no changes to the mainframe applications it serves. It monitors date requests for configured users or tasks, allowing requests for non-configured elements to pass through freely.

When it detects a service call for a pre-configured user or task, it intercepts the operating system’s response and modifies the result according to the configuration before passing it on to the application. It can return a fixed date, as well as add or subtract a pre-set value from the date and/or time response.
